Estelle M. Chaves Joins Bank of Canton as Residential Lending Vice President

Veteran lending and compliance professional to oversee mortgage operations

New Bank of Canton vice president of residential lending, Estelle M. Chaves (NMLS #766846)

CANTON, Mass. (December 12, 2022) – Bank of Canton recently named Estelle M. Chaves vice president of residential lending.

“I have worked in the residential lending industry for 30 years, and I have never forgotten what it was like to want to own my own home,” said Ms. Chaves. “I’m passionate about helping others realize their dream of homeownership, and I’m excited to work with a talented Bank of Canton team that helps make those dreams possible for so many customers and community members.”

In her new position, Ms. Chaves will oversee the daily operations of the mortgage department, including the management of underwriting, processing, closing and post-closing/investor delivery. She brings to the role 30 years of experience in the lending industry as well as an expertise in regulatory compliance, having earned the designations of Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP) from the American Bankers Association.

Ms. Chaves has held the roles of officer and vice president at several local banks and credit unions throughout the Greater Boston area. She will report directly to the bank’s president and CEO, Stephen P. Costello.

A Wareham resident, Ms. Chaves earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Appeals for the Massachusetts Division of Banks.
