Bank of Canton Donates $5,000 to Father Bill’s & MainSpring

Financial gift to support FBMS’s homelessness prevention programs in southern Massachusetts

CANTON, Mass. (August 21, 2026) – To help fight homelessness in its core communities, Bank of Canton recently donated $5,000 to Brockton-based nonprofit Father Bill’s & MainSpring.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Bank of Canton for this generous support,” said Catie Reilly, chief development officer at FBMS. “Every day, individuals and families come to FBMS looking for a safe place to turn and support finding a path back to stable housing. This gift helps make sure we can be there for them.”

Reilly added that the need remains high across the region. “We’re seeing more than 300 people staying in our shelters each night right now, which is a level we would typically expect during the colder winter months. At the same time, we’re continuing to create more housing solutions. Earlier this year, we welcomed residents into 24 new supportive housing apartments in Stoughton, and we’re preparing to break ground on a new Housing Resource Center in Plymouth.”

“None of this work happens without strong community partners. We’re very grateful to Bank of Canton for continuing to stand with FBMS and our neighbors.”

Bank of Canton was recently recognized among the state’s top corporate charitable contributors for the eighth consecutive year by the Boston Business Journal. Since 2005, the bank has provided more than $3.36 million to local charities and nonprofit organizations through donations and sponsorships.

“The number of families and individuals in our communities who are affected or threatened by homelessness is rising,” said Michael Lindberg, president and CEO of Bank of Canton, “and Father Bill’s & MainSpring is meeting the challenge head-on. Their leadership team, staff, and volunteers positively impact thousands of lives every year, and their multi-faceted approach to combating homelessness through supportive housing has become a national model. We are very proud to support their efforts.”
