Bank of Canton Donates $2,500 to Canton High School for Wireless Headsets

New equipment will benefit CHS Drama Club and other community stage productions

CANTON, Mass. (May 21, 2023) – Bank of Canton recently donated $2,500 to the Canton High School Drama Club, to fund the purchase of a new EarTec HUB wireless headset system.

“These new headsets opened up so many possibilities for us,” said Katherine Brobst, CHS theatre/dance/piano teacher and drama club director. “We had been using older, wired headsets that we’d found in storage. They weren’t in great condition – the sound quality and connections had deteriorated – and they took a lot of work to set up.

“Thanks to this gift from Bank of Canton, our crew and stage managers can now move about freely and efficiently during a show,” continued Brobst, “whether it’s getting to the light or sound board, backstage wings, dressing rooms, or the costume area in the back hallway. They can focus on their assignments and cues without tripping over cables or being tethered to one location, and better support the production and provide help wherever it’s needed.”

The wireless headsets were first used at CHS during the March production of “Little Shop of Horrors.” They will be available to other groups that perform in the CHS auditorium as well, including Canton’s elementary schools, middle school, local dance groups, and others.

“Bank of Canton is proud to support the CHS arts program,” said President and CEO Stephen P. Costello. “This technological upgrade will give students an opportunity to work with modern stage equipment they’ll encounter at the college level and in professional settings, and contribute to a richer experience for all theatergoers at the school.”

Since 2005, Bank of Canton has given more than $2.73 million to local charities and nonprofit organizations through donations and sponsorships. Last July, the bank was recognized with a Corporate Citizenship Award from the Boston Business Journal for the fourth consecutive year.
