CANTON, Mass. (May 8, 2018)David Scarcella has been named assistant vice president and manager of Bank of Canton’s 557 Washington Street branch in downtown Canton. A Canton native with experience at both local and regional banks, Mr. Scarcella brings a diverse background and banking expertise to his new role.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to be managing at my hometown mutual bank,” said Mr. Scarcella. “Growing up, I visited Bank of Canton’s Main Office branch almost every week with my mother. The bank was a huge part of the community back then, and I’m pleased to see that it still is today. We’ve got a great team of bankers and tellers here, and I’m looking forward to working with old friends, meeting new people and businesses in town, and building on the bank’s 180 years of success.”

Mr. Scarcella joins Bank of Canton from Needham Bank, where he served as an AVP/branch manager in Millis and an assistant branch manager in Dedham. Prior to that, he was an assistant branch manager with Citizens Bank in Westwood.

“David will be a great addition to the Bank of Canton family and the Main Office branch in particular,” said Anthony F. Caruso, senior vice president of retail banking. “As a Canton native, he already possesses a thorough knowledge of the local landscape and history. He understands the important role our bank plays in the community and in the lives of our customers. I’m excited to watch the branch grow under his leadership.”

In addition to his new role at Bank of Canton, Mr. Scarcella is enrolled in the Mass Bankers Association’s New England School of Financial Studies program at Babson, where he is scheduled to graduate this June.

Mr. Scarcella earned his B.S. from Bridgewater State College. He is a member of the Millis Lions Club, and lives in Foxboro with his wife, Susan, and son, Michael.
