Bank of Canton Hires Linda Cheng as Assistant Branch Manager

Multilingual banker joins 60 McGrath Highway branch in Quincy

CANTON, Mass. (August 16, 2022)Linda Cheng of Braintree has joined Bank of Canton’s 60 McGrath Highway branch in Quincy as assistant branch manager. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, as well as conversational in Fujianese, Ms. Cheng brings to her new role several years of banking and client service experience.

“Quincy is a diverse community, with a rich blend of cultures and business activity,” said Ms. Cheng. “I value having a work environment that reflects that. It’s great to work for a local mutual bank that actively engages and supports the city’s many different populations and organizations.”

With the addition of Ms. Cheng, Bank of Canton’s Quincy branch now has four bilingual staff members, with combined fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Burmese and Taoshanese.

Before joining Bank of Canton, Ms. Cheng was a client account manager at a Braintree consulting firm, overseeing 55 client relationships. Prior to that, she worked at a regional bank branch in downtown Quincy and at a property management firm in New York.

“Through my past work with Linda, I know her to be a top-notch banker and customer service representative in Quincy,” said Thi (Ty) Tu, branch manager at Bank of Canton. “Her experience working in client service roles – both business and personal – will be a great asset to our team here at 60 McGrath Highway.”

Ms. Cheng holds a B.A. in Asian Language and Literature from the University of Iowa. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, badminton and traveling.
