Bank of Canton Supports New England Center for Homeless Veterans

$10,000 Donation Brings Total to $84,000

November 29, 2012 – Bank of Canton has donated $10,000 to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans (NECHV) as a Gold Sponsor of the organization’s recent 10th Annual “Leave No One Behind” fundraiser, held at the Seaport Hotel, Boston.

Bank of Canton has been a generous supporter NEHCV over the past several years. This latest $10,000 donation brings Bank of Canton’s total support to $84,000, which allows the Center to continue providing programs like Training School, Housing Placement, and Job Placement and Retention that address day-to-day and long-term needs of thousands of veterans throughout New England.

“Our veterans, who serve the U.S. around the world, have been able to overcome major challenges at home through the New England Center for Homeless Veterans,” said Stephen Costello, President, Bank of Canton. “We are proud to continue supporting such a vital organization, whose groundbreaking programs help veterans overcome homelessness and unemployment, and transition successfully back to society.”

Andy McCawley, President and CEO of the NEHCV, stated: “The generous and valuable support provided to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans by the Bank of Canton over the past ten years been a key enabler and has allowed the Center to supply much-needed services to the men and women who have guarded our nation.

“The Bank of Canton has given the Center more than $84,000.00; and those resources have, in turn, allowed us to help more than 10,000 Veterans to realize their dreams and gain access to permanent housing, meaningful employment and opportunity,” McCawley continued. “The Bank of Canton has been, and remains, a strong community partner to the Center and to Veterans. On behalf of those that serve, we thank them for their generous commitment.”

NECHV empowers veterans in need with tools to achieve independent living through a broad array of programs and services. It is the oldest and largest center of its kind focused on homeless veterans and is recognized as one of the most effective private veterans’ transition programs in the country. Since its inception in 1989, the Center has proudly served more than 16,000 homeless veterans.
