Bank of Canton Hosts Retirement Planning Lecture
November 2006- Bank of Canton's Financial Services Division hosted a free lecture at its corporate headquarters, located at 490 Turnpike Street on Wednesday, October 25th. Featuring speaker Steve Vernon, Author of Live Long and Prosper, the event was funded by Bank of Canton and Symetra Financial. More than 185 people filled the auditorium to learn how to assess and manage their financial resources for retirement so they don't outlive their savings. Vernon also discussed how to make phased retirement work so people can have a prosperous and meaningful "rest-of-life." Vernon is the owner of Rest-of-Life Communications, a firm specializing in retirement education. He is quoted frequently in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, LA Times, USA Today, Business Week, Fortune Magazine, Money Magazine and has appeared on several television and radio shows in regards to retirement issues.
"Many of our customers express worry that they may not have enough money to last them the rest of their lives," said Brian Allsop, Vice President, Bank of Canton and Investment Executive for Infinex Financial Group. "We want them to know that we can help them obtain an inflation adjusted income for the rest of their life."
