Bank of Canton Hires Juan Berrera as AVP, Branch Manager

October 2006- James D. Egan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Canton, is pleased to welcome Juan Barrera as the new Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager for Bank of Canton's Route 138 Branch. Barrera will be responsible for managing daily operations, generating new business and ensuring the fiscal integrity of the bank. In addition to these duties, Barrera will service customers' personal and business banking needs and act as the key representative for Bank of Canton in the Canton community and its surrounding towns.

"Before joining Bank of Canton, I had the opportunity to work with many of the officers during a number of community events," Barrera said. "Joining Bank of Canton was an easy decision; the bank has a genuine commitment to its customers and communities it serves."

Barrera brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to Bank of Canton. He began his banking career as a teller at Bank of Boston in 1987, working his way to Assistant Branch Manager. Since then, he has served as the Branch Manager of Eastern Bank in Randolph, Mass., and also spent time as a Branch Manager for Fleet Bank in Westwood and Wellesley.

"Juan's operations experience and his dedication to fostering a customer friendly environment make him a welcome addition to our team," Egan said. "Our customers will benefit from his knowledge and experience. We look forward to the opportunities he will create."

Barrera resides in Wrentham, Mass. He is a member of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce, the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce and is involved with the Randolph Rotary and Randolph Community Partnership, Inc. In his spare time, he enjoys maintaining his salt water reef tank and spending time with his wife, Glennis, and their son, Andres, who is 11 years-old.
