Bank of Canton Names John M. Sharry as Senior Vice President
Twenty year industry veteran to help expand Bank of Canton's commercial banking portfolio.

June 2006- James D. Egan, President & Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce that John M. Sharry was hired as Senior Vice President. Sharry is servicing Bank of Canton's clients throughout New England and is based out of the bank's corporate office located at 490 Turnpike St. in Canton, Mass.

Sharry, a banking industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, is responsible for expanding Bank of Canton's commercial banking portfolio by providing middle market and small businesses with cash management and deposit services. He will also help business clients obtain financing for acquisitions, real estate purchases, equipment purchases, seasonal working capital and growth capital. In addition, he is responsible for representing the bank in various community activities.

Sharry has held many leadership roles in the banking industry. Before joining Bank of Canton, he served as Senior Vice President Client Manager at Bank of America in Boston. Prior to this, Sharry worked as the Senior Vice President - Relationship Manager for Fleet Bank and Bank of Boston for 11 years. He also served as a Vice President and Loan Officer at South Shore Bank in Quincy, where he worked for seven years. Before starting his career in the banking field, Sharry served seven years as a Naval Aviator, Lieutenant and Pilot for P-3C aircraft in the United States Navy.

When asked why he joined Bank of Canton, Sharry said, "I saw this as an opportunity to join a great team and contribute to the growth of a successful community bank."

Sharry received an M.B.A. in Accounting from Babson College, and a B.A. in Economics from the College of Holy Cross. He resides in Braintree, Mass., with his wife, Kathy, and their children: Ryan 16; Colleen 14; and Michael 8. Sharry is a member of the Rotary Club of Quincy and is on the Board of Directors for Braintree Youth Basketball. He is also a Coach for the Braintree American Little League.
