Bank of Canton Promotes Michelle Higgins to Assistant Vice President of Human Resources

February 2006- James D. Egan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Canton, is pleased announce that Michelle Higgins was promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Bank of Canton. Higgins, who was formerly Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager for Bank of Canton's Quincy branch, is now based in the company's Canton office, located at 557 Washington Street, where she is instrumental in benefit administration, employee relations and employee development.

"I am excited about the challenges of my new position," Higgins said. "Being branch manager required me to be detail-oriented and excel in customer service, two skills that I believe will benefit me in my new position. I enjoy working with many people and appreciate being an essential part of a growing company."

Higgins is a banking industry veteran with more than 20 years of industry experience working on the South Shore. She joined Bank of Canton more than nine years ago as Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager for Quincy, and was very successful at establishing Bank of Canton in the community it serves. Prior to this, Higgins gained experience in branch management, human resources and training in positions held at Bank of Braintree, The Cooperative Bank in Quincy and Quincy Cooperative Bank.

Higgins received her B.S. in Psychology and Business Management from Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. She is a South Area Council Member of the American Red Cross and is affiliated with various banking, human resources and Chamber of Commerce organizations.
