Bank of Canton Welcomes "Youth Leading Everywhere Abstaining from Drugs" Program

April 2008- On Wednesday April 16, 2008 more than 100 students from four area towns gathered at Bank of Canton's Corporate Headquarters, located at 490 Turnpike Street in Canton, to take part in the Youth Leading Everywhere Abstaining for Drugs (YOU LEAD) program.

The YOU LEAD program offered by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. (MIAA) provides leadership education and training to honor youth who decide to lead a substance free life. The YOU LEAD program gives students the opportunity to participate in information sharing opportunities and to access resources that celebrate lifestyles free of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

"Bank of Canton is always looking for new ways to get involved in our community," said James D. Egan, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Canton. "We are particularly interested in programs that promote better lifestyles for our children."

"The MIAA is thrilled to see such interest in the YOU LEAD program at the middle school level, a vulnerable age group for experimenting with substances," said Karen Nardone, Wellness Project Coordinator at MIAA. "This dynamic group of students and their advisors are highly committed to providing fun and educational programs for their peers in their schools and communities. The MIAA would like to thank Bank of Canton and District Attorney Keating's office for their support and for making this event possible."
