Bank of Canton Donates $1,000 to Future & Community Problem Solvers of Canton

December 22, 2010 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce the Bank’s recent donation of $1,000 to the Future & Community Problem Solvers of Canton. This contribution helps sponsor the teams’ upcoming trip to the 37th annual International Conference of the Future Problem Solving Program being held June 9-12, 2011 at University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Members of the Canton teams will test their skills against students from across the U.S. and around the world.

"The International Conference is the culmination of all their hard work during the year, but it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of donors like Bank of Canton. We thank them for their ongoing support and helping these students achieve their dreams.”

“For the past 25 years, The Future & Community Problem Solvers Program has provided Canton students with an opportunity to build their problem solving skills and help shape the world in a positive way,” said Mr. Costello. “The Canton teams have a long history of bringing home championships, and we’re confident they’ll do an outstanding job representing the local community at this spring’s International Conference. The Canton Future & Community Problem Solving Program is a volunteer-coached group that is open to students in grades 4-12. An FPS team is a group of four students who learn a six-step problem solving process, which they then apply, along with their research on specific topics, to solve social and scientific problems. The 2010-2011 topics are: Healthy Living, Air Transport, Genetic Testing, Water Quality, and Emergency Planning.
