Bank of Canton Donates $2,000 to Quincy Community Action Programs

May 5, 2010 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton is pleased to announce the Bank’s recent donation of $2,000 to Quincy Community Action Programs (QCAP). This contribution helped sponsor free First-Time Homebuyers Workshops held at QCAP headquarters at 1509 Hancock Street in Quincy.

“QCAP is enormously grateful to Bank of Canton for its many contributions to our organization and the community,” said Beth Ann Strollo, Executive Director of Quincy Community Action Programs. “This generous donation further demonstrates Bank of Canton’s commitment to affordable housing opportunities and financial education for low and moderate income residents.”

“Quincy Community Action Programs play a leading role in developing and managing affordable housing for low and moderate income families throughout the South Shore,” said Mr. Costello. “These workshops are a wonderful opportunity for first-time homebuyers to educate themselves about the home buying and financing process and to receive assistance toward their goal of homeownership. Bank of Canton shares QCAP’s commitment and is proud to lend our support to such an outstanding organization.”

Quincy Community Action Programs is a leading private non-profit organization in the Greater Quincy area dedicated to reducing poverty and helping low-income people achieve self-sufficiency. QCAP hosts 14 first-time homebuyers workshops annually, including some in Cantonese. QCAP was incorporated in 1965 and is one of 24 Community Action Agencies in Massachusetts serving approximately 23,000 people annually.
