Bank of Canton Donates $1,000 to Catholic Charities South

May 3, 2010 – Stephen P. Costello, President and CEO of Bank of Canton is pleased to announce the Bank’s recent donation of $1,000 to Catholic Charities South. This contribution helps sponsor the Annual Springfest which raises critical awareness and financial support for the urgent needs of the poor, working poor, children, and families in the South Shore area. This year’s event – “An Evening of Irish Revelry” – will honor Dr. Gerard and Mrs. Rosemary Burke for their dedication and commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities and celebrate their steadfastness and Irish Heritage on Thursday, June 10 at the Shaw’s Center in Brockton.

“Our job is to help the poor and working poor on the South Shore. We catch them when the fall, help them get back on their feet, and help them stay there,” said Tiziana C. Dearing, President of Catholic Charities of Boston. “Bank of Canton, through its generosity, has shown its solidarity in our mission and to the community it serves.”

Catholic Charities South, a community service center of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Boston, has a 90-year tradition of meeting the emerging and changing needs of children and families in Brockton and surrounding communities. Annually, they serve more than 24,000 children, adults, and families from more than 30 cities and towns.
